About us

Dan Robbins - Lead Consultant and Founder
I have always had a passion for weather and have been lucky enough to have had a career in Meteorology serving for the Royal Navy. Having joined the Navy 15 years ago as a Meteorology and Oceanography Officer, I have been fortunate to travel the world forecasting across the full spectrum of climates from the polar regions to the tropics. I have also spent a significant portion of that time based in the UK which provides the most challenging environment to accurately predict. I am a keen runner and cyclist completing numerous long distance challenges and also regularly assist at my in-laws farm particularly during the busy lambing periods. Utilising my 15 years of experience I am now looking for a new adventure and am offering my services across all industries that are impacted by the weather.
The thinking behind this consultancy business initially came from a discussion with a local farmer who sadly lost some livestock in a recent storm due to flooding, costing in the region of £3000 along with the emotional impact of loosing animals. After investigating how the accident occurred it became apparent that many farmers are not aware of the data available to them and are making critical decisions based on poor, inaccurate data which is significantly impacting their livelihood. The solution therefore is to employ an expert to advise on such matters all year round preventing avoidable incidents from occurring and maximising yield. I have access to the highest resolution data and can advise on detailed day-to-day forecasts all the way up to climate change and how it may impact your business. I am based near Exeter, down in the south west and cover all of the UK. If you would like any further information please don't hesitate to get in touch and I can discuss your needs.
